The New York Police and Fire Retiree Association was incorporated in 1978. At the present time, there are approximately 1400 paid members in our ranks. The membership is comprised of retired and active police officers and firefighters from paid departments primarily in
Westchester County and Long Island, but also throughout the State Of New York.
Active police officers and firefighters are encouraged to join.
FACT:
The NYPFRA is the only organization in the southern
region of New York State that represents both Active and Retired
police officers and firefighters.
FACT:
The NYPFRA is a loud voice of the present and future
retired police officers and firefighters with the New
York State Legislature in Albany, NY.
FACT:
The NYPFRA is the watchdog group for retired police
officers and firefighters, especially in the area
of retiree legislation both beneficial and detrimental
to their retirement.
FACT:
All active members of the
Scarsdale Fire Department (Local #1394),
and Yonkers Fire Department (Local #628)
are members of the NYPFRA.
All retired members of the
Eastchester Fire Department (Local #916)
and City of Rye Fire Department (Local #2029)
are members of the NYPFRA
